NEW YORK CLIMATE WEEK – FEATURED EVENT

SAVE-THE-DATE – DRAFT SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Dear Friends, Partners, and Changemakers,

On Tuesday, September 23rd, Newday Impact and COPx will cohost a powerful call to action celebrating people on the front lines of global change. COPx is a global movement empowering people everywhere to tackle the climate crisis by activating proven solutions—locally, in their own way—thereby building the political power needed to drive systemic change. The event will launch Causeway, Newday’s participatory platform empowering people and institutions to direct capital toward deep, measurable, and lasting impact.

Join us to celebrate movement builders, scientists, advocates, and entrepreneurs working every day to heal systems that have long been broken. Meet people leading efforts to build a future that is more just, resilient, and regenerative.

We will not reach our global goals on climate, equity, or development without such people in leadership, especially in the Global South. Their lived experiences and perspectives are essential to crafting solutions that are just, durable, and inclusive.

The fight for climate action isn’t just possible because of their leadership—it’s impossible without it. And we need you to join them.

🔥 Opening Conversation
Reimagining Impact: Capital, Climate, and Community

Doug Heske, CEO of Newday Financial Technologies, and Hunter Lovins, Co-CEO of COPx Global, will open the evening with a candid, forward-looking dialogue on how financial systems, climate leadership, and grassroots movements must converge to meet this moment. Their conversation will set the tone for a powerful evening of insight and action.

🌍 Panel 2
Frontline Heroines: Leading the Charge for Global Change

We are honored to be joined by a diverse group of nonprofit and for-profit leaders who are advancing impact in their communities and beyond. These women are not just part of the solution—they are leading it.

Their leadership doesn’t just make climate action possible—it makes it possible at all. Without their voices, vision, and power, global progress stalls.

Panelists include:

  • Laura Ash, Beneficial Plant Research Association
  • CEO, Vow for Girls
  • Maria Sjödin, Outright International

Moderated by Betsy Moszeter, CEO and President of Newday Impact

Newday Impact and COPx are thrilled to offer this event in hybrid format, enabling aligned communities from around the world to participate live. The virtual session will be moderated by Mitch Ratcliffe of Intentional Futures.

Following the formal program, guests are invited to a networking session featuring food, beer and wine, and the opportunity to connect with our speakers and impact leaders.

Why This Moment—and This Platform—Matters

Today, nonprofits and grassroots leaders are under unprecedented pressure, from shrinking funding to rising political scrutiny. At the same time, the systems many of them work within—or against—often fail to deliver real change.

Our speakers know this because they live it. They’re not here to sugarcoat. They’re here to tell the truth about what’s working, what’s failing, and what we must do next.

Causeway is built for exactly this moment. It’s more than a platform—it’s a new kind of infrastructure for impact. One rooted in radical transparency, shared leadership, and accountable capital. It allows everyone, from major funders to everyday donors, to see where their money is going, measure what it’s doing, and become part of a growing movement that connects finance to frontline change.

COPx – Conferences of People, Independently Organized

For 30 years, governments negotiated climate change. The result? Emissions have doubled. The crisis once seen as distant is here. Nature doesn’t negotiate. It’s up to us—the people—to lead.

COPx is powered by people globally, rooted in community, and built for action. COPx brings the work to where change really happens: in our cities, neighborhoods, and streets. This is more than awareness. It’s a movement for action—and political change. From climate cleanups to policy campaigns, from art to advocacy, thousands of synchronized events will mobilize people across the world to deliver local solutions and build political pressure from the bottom up.

The Purpose of This Event

This event is a celebration and a call to shift how we fund, scale, and support the people doing the most important work of our time. Together, we will:

  • Illuminate the systemic barriers that nonprofits and movement leaders face
  • Celebrate real-world evidence of success from our partners and speakers
  • Introduce Causeway as a tool to close the gap between capital and change
  • Build momentum for a new era of participatory, community-driven impact investing

Join us to celebrate extraordinary activists, confront hard truths, and activate bold new tools for global impact.
