Professor Ann Powers - Board Member

Professor Ann Powers is an Emerita faculty member of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law’s Center for Global Environmental Legal Studies at Pace University. She has taught courses in the law of oceans and coasts, international environmental law, UN diplomacy, and water quality, and has worked extensively with the United Nations Environment Programme and the IUCN.

She served on the American Bar Association’s Sustainable Development Task Force, on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Law Institute, and on the National Research Council’s Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology. She is the International Council of Environmental Law’s Representative to the United Nations. Prior to joining Pace, she served as Vice President and General Counsel of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and as a senior trial attorney in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the United States Department of Justice.
